The EEG Notebook — data and attribution

Electrode locations are 2D teaching projections adapted from FieldTrip template/layout/EEG1020.lay, EEG1010.lay and EEG1005.lay. Retrieved 2 October 2026 from https://github.com/fieldtrip/fieldtrip/tree/master/template/layout . COMNT and SCALE layout annotations are excluded. These templates include named sites beyond common clinical cap configurations. Counts are template points, not mandated channel counts.

FieldTrip is distributed under the GNU General Public License. Original layout files are supplied here, with the license. Notebook interface independently implemented; inspired by Aref Pariz’s EEG viewer.

The image is schematic, not an individual electrode measurement or source-localization map. Odd/even numbering describes the wearer’s left/right; z denotes midline. The system is defined by proportional head measurements, not the number of displayed points.
